Looking for Players: Penitensya (FATE: CORE)

I'm thinking of running a FATE game based on an idea Jay and I have. Here's a short blurb for PENITENSYA:

***

Sabi nila, aswang daw ako. Halimaw.

Pakshet.

And no, hindi required maging religious ang character mo.

***

Is this something that would be interesting for people? grin emoticon I live in Kalentong and I will probably run it there.

House Rules: Humans

#dndnext recently released its final public playtest packet. Some people are saying that it's too soon, and the system is far from polished. I will try to avoid that conversation for now - instead, I see this as an opportunity to finally look at the system and see if it can support one of my longer-running games.

So far, I think it works. But I do believe that there are some things about the system that bug me. Fortunately, this is a tabletop RPG, where #houserules are supreme. I thnk I will enjoy this system with only a few tweaks.

So here's my first one!

HUMANS

Diverse replaces the humans' Ability Score Adjustment ability.

Diverse: You can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. Alternatively, if you are using the Feat optional rule, you can instead use Diverse to take a feat.

It's not exactly a monumental change (I'm pretty sure there's at least one other playtest group doing the same thing), but for me it makes sense. Some players are complaining about not getting a feat at 1st level, and this human trait caters to their wants while simultaneously making humans less of a vanilla race. I also like how it hearkens back to the 3E human, which is a nice touch.

What do you guys think? Is this enough to make humans interesting?

Dungeon World: The Red Rajah's Tomb

Oh my! Has it been one and a half years already? Time sure flies. For one thing, when I last posted Google Plus was not as integrated within the whole Blogger experience. It's all new to me, so I apologize in advance if I get too trigger-happy with the plusses.

Anyway, work for +Nosfecatu Publishing has stopped for the meantime. Soon after my last post, you see, those wizards who lived on the Coast decided to announce a public playtest for a new edition of their game. So until that edition comes out (currently I plan to support it), there's going to be little to no new published content for this vampire kitten. For the moment I'm on full-on fan mode.

(By the way, if you're reading this blog, then chances are you're a fan of tabletop RPGs. If that's true and it so happens that you're still not part of the D&D playtest, I urge you to look into joining. We try to cram as much playtest time in between our regular game, ourselves.)

Now with that out of the way, let me tell you what I've been up to recently: Dungeon World!

Renaming Complete!

I have been thinking about what i should call my blog. Clearly Awful Good would not work, as I believe someone else who shares the exact same interest group had it first. So before they even notice, I'm ditching that blog name.

I wanted to make myself sound Filipino, but at the same time I wanted people to know that it's still D&D. So I ended up going with Tikbalang Rogue. It's not the best name, but maybe I can work with it.

Anyway, that's all for now. Beej, out!
